It's The Dust and the Mud...

I love Rodeos. I especially love rodeos when I know one of the cowboys in the rodeo! That makes it even more fun! And Jake didn't disappoint. But let me start at the beginning because the night was quite an adventure... Last week I went to the Tremonton rodeo with Haylee, Mekell, and Wendy to watch Jake steer wrestle. When we got in the car Haylee mentioned that she needed to get gas. Her gas light had come on the night before and so we needed to fill up before heading out to Tremonton, aka clear freakin out there. So we got in the car, headed to Layton to grab something, and got on the freeway without getting gas because we kept forgetting. We decided it wasn't a big deal and we could just pull off of an exit somewhere and fill up eventually. I told Hays that I could make it to work and back twice with my gas light on so we should be fine. We didn't think it was a big deal that the vehicle was telling us 0 miles until empty. Well we got pretty far but all the sudden we ran out of gas! What the...? We were shocked! We tried to coast off of the exit but it didn't really work so Haylee and I left Mekell and Wendy in the car and walked to the gas station. It was amazing how many people stopped to offer their help! Literally at least 15 people stopped. We told them all that it would be fine but thanks. We figured all we would have to do would be buy a gas can, put some gas in the Tahoe, drive it to the gas station and be on our way.. Not exactly.

More people offered their help but we are tough so Haylee, Mekell, and I got out and pushed until we could get the Tahoe going enough for it to start. So finally after I was a sweaty mess we got back on the freeway and headed out to the rodeo.

Jake took second place in the steer wrestling so he was way too fast for me to get a good picture.

Cowboys are always so cute from behind so I had to post this picture of Jake! Hope Haylee doesn't mind! Ha ha.

Jake makes a pretty cute cowboy! I think he should maybe dress like this all the time. It was way fun going to the rodeo. Thanks for doing so good and making it so fun Jake. It wouldn't have been near as fun if you sucked at it. I'm glad that we went! We don't do near as much fun things together as we should! I can't wait for the next rodeo!

Tyler's Homecoming

It felt like we had to wait forever for Tyler to be able to speak in our ward for his homecoming! He got home on the 17th of July and didn't get to speak until August 9th! He wasn't too happy about it and neither were we. But the wait was well worth it. It is crazy to me how much missionaries grow during their missions and Tyler was no exception. He did very well. He didn't even have to prepare very much for it and he gave an awesome talk! At home it was a different story! We had help from many people as we were getting ready for the homecoming dinner. We borrowed tables and chairs, shade tents, and had many people bring salads and desserts. It is a lot of work but always so much fun to be able to see everyone! And so many people came! During sacrament the poor boys had to do the blessing 3 times because they kept running out! And so many people had to sit out in the hall!

So many people came and supported Tyler on this special day for him. We are so blessed to have such great family and friends! Thanks everyone and good job Ty! I am so proud of you!

Britney Spears

When I heard that Britney was coming in concert I was planning on buying tickets until I looked at her ticket prices. Normally I wouldn't really care but there are so many concerts that I want to go to that are coming up that I decided to be smart about it and resist. But as it got closer to the concert I got more and more sad. I would hear her song on the radio and start to cry a little bit. I have loved Britney Spears since the days of Oops I Did It Again. I have always felt so bad for her and have been rooting for her to get back on her feet. But anyways, the day before the concert Haylee called and asked if I wanted to buy last minute tickets with them. Again I was tempted but decided that I wouldn't buy one. But then to my luck, sorry Kallee, Kallee got sick and called and asked if I wanted my ticket. At first I felt bad but then I just decided I might as well enjoy it! I still feel really bad that Kallee couldn't use it but I am so glad I got to go! It was amazing!

Here are Haylee and I getting ready to leave. Gentry's boyfriend bought the tickets as a surprise so Gentry had no idea that we were going! We had to cover our shirts til we told her.

Haylee was brilliant and bought us these sweet ponchos that we could wear on our mile long trek to the Delta Center. Our hair still got a little wet but thank goodness we had them or we would have been soaked!

Ahh! Here are the Pussy Cat Dolls! We had general admission tickets for the floor and so we were so close! These girls all dressed a little bit scandalous but they were still so cute! They put on a really good show. I can't decide but I think that I liked them better than Britney! They were really fun.

Britney's concert was themed to a circus so they had a mini circus with real life, creepy as ever Carnies. There were a few really cool things that they did though.

Britney changed her clothes for almost every song. These are just a few of my favorites and least scandalous ones. Britney's looks have fluctauted a bit but she looked so dang good at the concert! Britney brought out quite the crowd. At a couple of times during the concert I was scared for my life but it was still really fun! We were really exhausted by the time that it was over though. Haylee and I were so tired that we even sat on the floor of the Delta center while we waited for Gentry to find some stuff that she wanted to buy!

The concert was so fun! Thanks for the invite girls and thanks Kal for the ticket! I am pretty sure that I loved it enough for both of us!
