Happy Birthday Grandma!

It is my sweet Grandma Smith's birthday today. I don't know exactly how old she is but I'm pretty sure she is finally over 29. My grandma is one of the nicest, funniest people that I know and she would do anything for our family. She and my grandpa are the reason that all of our cousins are all so close. So I just wanted to take some time and tell her how thankful I am for her and how much I love her. Oh and Happy Birthday!

Here is Levi helping Grandma open her presents. What a good helper!

Here she is holding up one of her gifts. She is one of the best dressed ladies i know! And I'm pretty sure that she single handedly keeps the Christopher & Banks store in business.

Grandma is blowing out her candle with the aid of her helper again.

Here is my cute sister Morgan, my grandma, and I. We sure love you grandma!

Happy Birthday!

A Dream Come True!

I pretty much had a life changing experience this weekend! After buying tickets in October of 2007 and having the concert postponed due to laryngitis, I was finally able to see Celine Dion live in concert! I have been waiting my whole life for this. Celine is one of the very first cd's that I remember getting when I was a little girl. I remember listening to her cd for hours with Stephanie. I was expecting a lot from this concert and she totally exceeded my expectations and I didn't know that was possible. One of my best friends Kallee and I bought our tickets together and we were lucky enough to be able to switch seats around to have Steph and Dave sit next to us. It was so great!

We started the night off at the always delicious California Pizza Kitchen at the Gateway. It was so yummy!

As you can probably see... we bought Celine t-shirts and I couldn't be more happy about them! And I don't know if you can tell, but on the back of the shirt is the list of the stops she made during her tour and the top country listed is South Africa! How cute! Also notice another cool feature of the shirt, on the front you can see the front of Celine and on the back you can only see her back. So cool!

Here we all are waiting for Celine to start!

Here are some of my favorite pictures of Celine that I took that night. She is so beautiful! And she has such energy! I wish that I could have that type of energy now at age 22 let alone when I'm late 30's early 40's! The outfit in the middle is my favorite one that she wore during the concert.

One other really great thing that happened that night was that we totally met and got our picture taken with a "big" Utah celebrity! Who knew that Big Buddha would be at Celine? He was so nice! It was a great end to the night!

So obviously I had a great night! I have been waiting so long to see her and now that it is over it feels like there is nothing to look forward to in life... Except oh wait, I have like a bazillion concerts coming up that I am going to. So there is a reason to go on!

Welcome back Kenny!

I am so excited that I just had to blog about this! I bought my tickets to Kenny Chesney today and I can't even wait! The concert is on July 23 so I still have to wait a few months but actually purchasing the tickets made it seem so close! I have so many fun memories of the Kenny Chesney concerts that I have been to. I thought I'd post some pictures of the past concerts...

This is the picture of kenny giving me a private concert back on some private island. We've been to so many that I forget which island we were on for this particular concert.

We have had some interesting experiences at the Kenny concerts. This particular year started out with Pearl breaking down in the middle of Salt Lake. We HAD to get there asap to get our spot in line so Ty and Paige had to hitch hike to the concert while Jaron and I waited for my dad to come pick us up.

Once we made it to Usana we had to find things to do to entertain us for the next 7 hours while we waited for the concert to start. While exploring we found Kenny and though we all have some weird ways of showing it, we are so excited to be touching Kenny's chest!

Kenny also has a way of bringing people together like nothing else. These are some cute, young girls that we met a few years ago at a concert and we were lucky enough to find them and sit by them again at the next one! I don't even know their names but hopefully we'll see them again this year!

Kenny also has a way of bringing out the emotions. I have to admit that I usually shed a few tears when he comes out as well!

Here is a picture of all of us Kenny fans after a long, fun day of being in the Kenny spirit.

So obviously I am really excited about seeing Kenny again but the reason that I am so so so excited is because Tyler will have just barely gotten home and will be able to go to Kenny with us! Yay! I just hope that he will be able to handle that level of excitement so soon!

Wendover!

I went to Wendover this weekend for some gambling and Joe Diffie. It was great! I tried to pretend that it was a super sweet road trip but Braden kept ruining my fun by telling me that it was only 100 miles or whatever it is and couldn't be classified as a road trip. Like always we took way too many treats. I'm pretty sure we only ate like one thing out of probably 20. I think that Braden and I ate a whole package of E.L. fudge cookies all by ourselves. We tried to blame it on Jenilyn but I really don't think she even ate one cookie. Between the three of us gamblers I think that we lost 22 dollars, not too bad, but I definitely lost the majority of it. I lost 15 all by myself! But it was definitely worth it! After the gambling we went back home to the hotel and stayed up for a few hours talking. Braden informed us quite a few times that he stayed up and slept in later than he has in a very long time!

The main event!

We ate dinner at the local West Wendover Pizza Hut because we weren't sure that we could stomach any of the casino buffets!

Me, Annie, and Braden waiting for Joe to come out!

Finally! The moment that we have all been waiting for! Joe Diffie! Although he is about 20 years older and quite a few pounds heavier than we were expecting him to be, he still was great!

Parker Diffie! Joe's son who thought that he was the main event. This is the expression that he had on his face during the whole concert!

We are on a Joe Diffie high! And we are also pretty sure that we are the only normal people in all of West Wendover.

And here is the proof of that!

Jenilyn is not yet 21 so she had to stay back at the hotel and have a House and Dirty Jobs marathon while we were out partying. Sad.

Annie really wanted to become a good passenger food preparer so she spent the whole ride home practicing by making Brado some fry sauce and also by dipping his egg role and then feeding him bites. We decided that he is a lot like Colton, when he wanted another bite he would just tilt his head and open his mouth.

All in all it was a great trip! Thanks for inviting me guys! We will definitely
have to do it again soon!

Just starting out...

I know, I know. I have always said that I am so against people without husbands and/or babies having a blog. But... I have changed my mind. I am such a blog stalker that I just had to join in! Hopefully I will have interesting enough stuff to blog about.
